J Ashford J Ashford @ Nov 20, 2023 - Fireaway - Ashford
I was delighted to find a proper pizza company in Ashford, Kent that cooked pizza with the traditional fire oven method. I ordered from you a week or so ago and was delighted with the food, the delivery and the service. Tonight I ordered again. Sadly the app seemed to be delayed and when my food was delivered which according to the app was still being prepared it was missing a side dish from the “Firestarter deal” menu, a small thing just a haloumi salad.

So I called the store. The phone rang 10 times then hang up. Then I called again. This time it answered after one ring and I said “hello I was missing an item”, it hang up again immediately. I rang back for the third time and it answered again and I said “you just hang up on me” and was told “no I did not I told you the delivery was on it’s way” . I said sorry you didn’t tell me that as I have my delivery already I was ringing to report a missing item. I was told “I need 5 minutes I’m busy ”. I said no I want someone to deal with my query now my delivery is already here.

The man then started to become very aggressive and rude. I said I just want a refund on the missing item. He asked what the “red bull and the milkshakes”? I said no you clearly don’t even know who I am as you don’t know which order I am talking about. He said he “didn’t care as he was too busy” and continued to be rude and aggressive calling me “bruv” constantly. He then told me I could speak to his manager but his manager was not there either and offered to give me his number. I said fine given me the number. He started saying “079” then stopped and said no I am not giving you the number, you are a “fucking disgrace” then hang up.

This is without doubt the most offensive, aggressive and rude customer experience I have ever had to endure in my life. His attitude was disgusting, dismissive and he should not be answering phones let alone be working at a customer facing establishment. I asked “is this really the way you want to conduct yourself” and he said I was being “fucking rude and it’s all being recorded”. If it is in fact being recorded I implore you to listen to this conversation (19:44 for 6 minutes at Ashford branch). One you hear the exchange there can be no doubt you should terminate his employment for gross misconduct as he is doing your business irreparable damage and a great business you have built not to be ruined by people like this.

For my purposes I would like a written apology for my incomplete meal which was ruined as result of this man’s disgusting, aggressive, nasty and rude behaviour.

Really disappointed.
Today on 18th Feb 2022 (fri) ordered some food to takeaway costing around £40.
I live around 12 miles away from the restaurant.
Came home and saw there was a mistake in the order
I was given chicken manchow soup instead of veg. manchow soup. It was a waste as the soup was for a family member who do not eat chicken.

Called up the restaurant to inform and the lady on phone (who supposedly called herself the manager) was not ready to admit that there was a mistake on their side. She kept saying it was miscommunicated from my side and that why I did not say when my order was repeated to me.

Anything I was trying to tell her was futile because she did not want to listen and admit that when the order was repeated to me they did not say chicken. Had that been the case, i would have corrected it there and then.

On top of that she started calling us rude & disrespectful when all we were trying to express was our disappointment that we have paid for something we cannot consume or come to return.

These things happen, everyone understands but the least a renowned place/restaurant can do is have some decent staff on phone talking to customers who offer solutions to customers rather than trying to put all the blame on customer who is already in loss.

If anything like this happened with me or any of my friends before with any other restaurant and we call and inform - we get a simple solution that no worries might be a mistake we can refund/exchange it now if you can get it or on your next visit.

The lady here at Bombay wok, gave us this solution when I ASKED that this is what I expected from you instead of a big explanation/blame or argument. On that as well she said - I offered you this before but you did not listen. So basically my impression is whatever mistake happens it has to be the communication problem of the customer. Bizzare! And I must also mention, for some reason the lady kept saying i’m also human, i’m not going to verify anything with my staff etc. as if the customer who is at loss is not human.

Always loved this restaurant and their service & food. Never expected this kind of service from a person sitting on a responsible position at this place.

Very disappointed.

Recommendation to all ordering takeaway - please check your order before collecting and leaving because if by any chance there is a mistake the manager on phone might accuse of miscommunication even though you are at loss.
